Life in 5: Kaylee Johnson
Hi friends, my name is Kaylee Johnson, I’m a senior here at NAU studying photography!
I 💛 to Capture the Experience
Ever since I was a freshman I’ve been working with NAU Athletics as a photographer for athletic games and other events on campus.
I focus on capturing the full experience of an event to be used to advertise to others.
I love working here because it allows me to put my major into reality and get creative with working alongside people.
I take photography field trips in college 😎
I love NAU because of the variety of places to adventure to. This photo was taken at Wupatki National Monument on a photo field trip I took for one of my classes. Being a photography major (especially at NAU) allows you to take field trips to the Grand Canyon and other national parks (which not many other students can say).
The Super Moon gave me super feels 🌚
This photo is one of my favorite pictures I’ve ever taken while attending NAU. It was taken up at the observatory on the night of the super moon.
#DYK NAU is the only university to offer a scientific photography class in the United States which includes astrophotography.
I’m proud of my progress
This photo is another one of my personal favorites. I shot it for NAU’s 2017 Spring Photo Contest and won first place. I was so thrilled to have my work recognized and proud of the progress I’ve made since I first started college.
I 💛 my gorgeous home
The main reason I chose NAU was because of the seasons. I’m originally from Phoenix, Arizona and I always loved coming up to Flagstaff for a change of scenery. As a photography major, having the ability to shoot all seasons allows me to capture beautiful shots like the one below.
