Treat your pet to a day out in Flagstaff

With dog-friendly restaurant patios and adventurous trails, Flagstaff is known as a favorite city for Fido. Grab some bonding time with your favorite four-legged friend and check out these pet-friendly places in town. #LoveYourPetDay

For the hiking buddy 🏔

Fat Man’s Loop

5098 US-89, Flagstaff, AZ 86004

This trail is a dog favorite for hiking. With wildflowers, small oak trees and large boulders, the moderate 2.5-mile loop is enjoyable for dogs and their owners. There are some steep portions on the Fat Man’s Loop where your pup may need your assistance.

For more of a challenge, you may choose to extend your hike to the Mt. Elden Lookout trail, which has more elevation gain, or take the Pipeline Trail that goes all the way to Buffalo Park.

Buffalo Park

2400 N Gemini Rd, Flagstaff, AZ 86004

This two-mile loop is an easy, flat, pet-friendly trail with plenty of beautiful scenery for you and your pup to take in.

Located just northeast of downtown, Buffalo Park has views of the Peaks and Mt. Elden, and you may spot some wildlife.

If your dog is a social butterfly, this trail is for you.

Snowbowl

9300 N Snow Bowl Rd, Flagstaff, AZ 86001

Enjoy a peaceful sunset with your pup or a scenic hike through the dog-friendly trails at the Arizona Snowbowl.

The Aspen Nature Loop Trail is a dog favorite at Snowbowl, a 2.7-mile moderate trail that features wild flowers and beautiful aspen trees.

Your dog will love crunching on the colorful leaves during the fall season while you take in the scenery.

NiMarcos Pizza Downtown

Rain or shine, NiMarcos Pizza’s covered patio has you and your dog’s back.

Enjoy some local Flagstaff cuisine while your pup makes new friends — this restaurant is always hopping with canines. Water bowls are offered and heaters are available on the patio as well.

Late for the Train

Late for the Train is a long-time local favorite coffee shop located in downtown Flagstaff. Dogs can enjoy the pet-friendly patio while their humans fuel up on some of the best coffee around.

The Sweet Shoppe

Furry friends are welcome at the downtown candy shop, where you’ll surely want to stop after a dinner out with your pup. The old fashion candy store has fudge, gelato, macarons, caramels, and plenty of favorites for humans as well as special treats for the pups.

Mother Road Brewing Company

Mother Road’s large patio space makes for a welcoming dining experience for pups. On any given day, you’ll likely see a number of dogs joining their owners on the patio and enjoying a large water bowl to themselves.

Plenty of heaters and fire pits will keep you and your dog cozy during the colder months. Known for good beer and friendly staff, Mother Road is a Flagstaff favorite for humans and dogs alike.

Wanderlust Brewing

Wanderlust is one of the few venues where dogs are welcome inside. Stay warm and enjoy some local brews with your best four-legged friend, or sit out on the pet-friendly patio. You and your pup may also enjoy sticking around for the local bands, movie nights or food trucks you’ll see at this brewery from time to time. Check out their website for the entertainment schedule.

Thorpe Park Bark Park

Treat your dog to social hour at one of Flagstaff’s best off-leash dog parks. Thorpe Park is a 1.5-acre dog park with separate play areas for small and large dogs, agility equipment, and benches and picnic tables. During the winter months, let your pup run free and embrace the snow play.

Whether you love hanging out in the city or taking to the trails, Flagstaff has plenty of dog-friendly things to do. Celebrate your pup on Love Your Pet Day by taking them along with you to one of these restaurants or hiking trails.
