These photos are the best way to capture my family, but it’s hard to choose just one photo. The last time we were all together was in May 2016 when my brother, David, graduated from NAU and was commissioned as an Officer into the United States Army. He is currently in South Korea and will not be back until October 2018 — so a new family photo is in the future.

The photo on the left is from the last time we were all together; the middle is my brother in a Black Hawk doing something cool I’m sure; and the photo on the right is with my parents at the Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyland.

My family is my #1 support system that I know I can always rely on. They have been my biggest cheerleaders throughout college and continue to motivate me every day.

Friends are Family

This is my best friend, Kayleen. We met on the first day of school our freshman year when we both started in ROTC.

While neither of us found a fit in the program, we stayed friends for the long run. After all, she was my battle buddy the whole time ;)

Having Kayleen as my best friend and roommate has been one of the best parts of college. We can talk about anything and everything and are there to support one another through all of life’s challenges.

Side note: From cruises on Spring Break to Disneyland for Thanksgiving, our adventures are beyond memorable. There’s never a dull moment here.

The Support Never Ends

This is sort of a two-part photo. For one, I am a senior at NAU, and a proud one at that. I play an active role on campus, and have truly come to love this mountain town.

I am proud to be part of Lumberjack Country, and am happy to show it off any time I can.

Secondly, this is my incredible boyfriend, Luis. He is one of the most supportive people in my life, and someone I am proud to have by my side. College can be stressful, but he is the person I can trust to be there when things start to get tough.

Side note: We go on epic adventures too. We recently conquered Angel’s Landing in Zion and are now planning our trip to Half Dome in Yosemite.

One Word: Cats

This right here is the cutest kitty in the world. Her name is Lily and she is about nine years old now. I’ve had her since she was a kitten, and she is the best cat in the world. One of the best parts of coming home for the holidays is spending days curled up with her and napping all day.

My Lily girl always makes an appearance in my Skype calls with my parents. I wasn’t sure how she would do in Flagstaff in a small apartment, so she lives back home in California. Rough life, right?

Loving my Busy Life

Finally, this picture sums up being behind the scenes, always. I have been working with NAU Social Media for two years now, and have loved every minute of it. I enjoy being behind the camera and capturing student life, but also finding that connection to campus.

Making magic come to life in front of the camera is what I am passionate about, and I am forever grateful that I have the opportunity to do it for NAU. If you ever need to find me, I usually have my phone in hand and am at a fun-filled event somewhere on campus.

See you around. ;)
