My Life in 5: Anna Scherer
Hi I’m Anna and I’m graduating 🎓 TOMORROW 🎓 with a Bachelors of Art in Political Science and a minor in Spanish. I’m so excited to join the real world!
Flagstaff has become my home
My last 3.5 years in Flagstaff have been awesome. I absolutely love NAU and Flagstaff.
From looking at the peaks while on campus, to forest strolls — beauty is all around.
During my time here in FLG, I’ve learned to take advantage of all my opportunities and to appreciate what is around me.
I’ve also realized just how much I love the strong sense of community we have in our mountain town.
Chile stole my heart 🇨🇱
One of the best decisions I made while at NAU was to study abroad.
Through studying abroad in Chile I’ve learned that I LOVE to explore new places! I hope to travel as much as I can, and, as often as I can.
Fun fact: I just booked a backpacking trip to Asia in January to celebrate graduation!
I can’t wait to explore more ✈️
While I don’t know what the future holds — I do know that I want to keep exploring. As the saying goes, “The mountains are calling and I must go.”
While Flagstaff has been a fantastic mountain town for me the past three and a half years — more places are calling my name. My most favorite mountain town is Patagonia, Chile. I can’t wait to go back and explore more of the world as well!
Where will the future take me? My top three places to visit are: Banff National Park in Canada, the Himalayas, and Petra, Jordan.
I’m a dog lover 🐶
Saying that I love dogs is an understatement, I LOOOOOVE DOGS 🐶🐶🐶🐶
Unfortunately, I don’t have one of my own right now. One thing I’m looking forward to after graduation is the opportunity to adopt a dog from a shelter.
However, I’m waiting until I have adequate time to take care of it (*them — let’s be real 😉) because I want to give it (them) as much love as possible 💗
Flagstaff instilled in me a sense of adventure 🌲
When you live in Flagstaff, adventure is all around. From the mountains to the creek in Sedona to the Grand Canyon — you can just hop in your car and pretty much be on an adventure.
One of my most favorite adventures was Westwater trip on the Colorado River.
I know that any time I can be on the river in a boat, I’ll be happy so I hope I end up someplace to make this happen and as often as possible.
I’m ready to start my next chapter 👩🎓
It’s been a fun stretch NAU — but my time here has come to a close. Soon I’ll walk across the graduation stage and say farewell.
You will be forever remembered 💙💛
