Hello folks! My name’s Nemanja, I’m a political science SENIOR here at NAU, getting ready to graduate THIS December!

[I simply] love to travel! ✈️

This photo is me and two of the most amazing people I’ve ever met at Bather’s Beach, Western Australia on my last day living in WA during my semester abroad. Anne, on the far right, is still in Australia pursuing a degree in Veterinary Sciences, but not a day goes by where I don’t think about her. In the middle is my partner, Cody, who I am lucky enough to see every day!

[I simply] love the world. 🌏

As much as I love to see the world, I also love to take care of it. On National Earth Day 2015, I helped plant over 300 trees and plants in the wetlands of Western Australia. Living an environmentally friendly lifestyle is very important to me, and I am constantly growing my knowledge regarding sustainable living. One such way is through the Sustainable Citizen Program offered by NAU.

[I simply] love my kiddos 👨‍🏫

Taking care of the world also means taking care of its inhabitants. This is Christian, he was one of my students this past summer at San Jeronimo Bilingual School in Cofradia, Honduras. I started my career at NAU thinking I would be a lawyer, but am leaving with the understanding that I want to be a teacher. This past summer I spent three weeks in Honduras working at a bilingual summer camp, and will be returning in January to work as a full-time, English teacher!

[I simply] choose to love myself 💛

Taking care of yourself is just as important as taking care of others. I love to hike, go on walks, or just sit down and read a good book. There’s nothing like some me time at the end of a stressful week! This “me time” looks different for everyone, but has the same amazing affects accross the board.

[I simply] am blessed in life

Finally, the world and all of its wonders means nothing if you don’t have someone to share it with. I’m blessed to have an amazing partner and incredible friends who I know are always ready for the next adventure. This summer I spent about a month travelling through Europe. We saw our amazing friend Mica in the UK, and spent a week with my family in Serbia. Living a life of adventure and opportunity means you are constantly gaining new friends and connections. Maintaining those connections simply means opening the door to new experiences.
