You may have seen her chairing a riveting debate for the Model United Nations class or leading a lecture on political ideologies — but outside the classroom Dr. Gee can be found out in the nature, reading a good book, and supporting her students wherever they may be!

Q: Hometown?

A: Taos, NM

Q: Blue or gold?

A: Blue

Q: Do you prefer Flagstaff summer or winter?

A: Both. Winter with snow is glorious and summer without forest fires is amazing

Q: Do you prefer the spring or fall?

A: Fall for sure since Spring teases us and rips our hearts out with cold and wind

Q: When did you come to NAU & why?

A: 1995 when my husband and I moved to Flagstaff from spending 6 months in Ukraine

Q: What is your favorite spot on campus?

A: North campus under the big trees

Q: Where’s the best place in Flagstaff to grab a bite to eat?

A: Beaver Street

Q: What is your favorite picture on your phone?

A: My husband and daughters on a hike

Q: What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

A: Love God, love people

Q: What is a tip every Lumberjack should know?

A: Work hard, serve others, do your best and don’t compare yourself to other people

Q: What do you want your students to walk away with from your class?

A: A deeper understanding of the world, and a desire to understand people different from themselves

Q: What is something students might not know about you?

A: I am deeply afraid of grasshoppers. But don’t tell anyone.

Q: Describe your typical day on campus.

A: Teaching class, talking to students in office hours, checking emails

Q: On the weekends where can we expect to find you?

A: Hiking or bicycling. Out in nature. At church on Sunday.

A: I love my students
