Maximize your time and expertise this summer with a one-in-a-lifetime internship! We’ve gone ahead and compiled a list of some top internships that are currently open to students and sure to put a new set of skills on your resume. Check out some of your options below ⬇️

The Arboretum’s Environmental Education Internship

Rare Plant Research Intern — If you’ve got a green thumb and a knack for research, this one is for you! Assist the Research Botanist and the Director of Research in on-going research with Pediomelum pentaphyllum (Chihuahua scurfpea), a rare legume found only in Arizona and New Mexico. Research will include both field work (travel required) and laboratory studies.

Seed Conversion Intern — Fieldwork more your style? Seed Conversion intern may be up your alley! Assist the Research Botanist and the Director of Research in execution of seed collecting and cleaning activities for The Arboretum at Flagstaff’s Research department and the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Seeds of Success Program (SOS). SOS is a program coordinated by the BLM to support seed collections from native plant populations to conserve and develop native plant materials for stabilizing, rehabilitating and restoring lands in the United States.

Northern Arizona HealthCare Foundation

Special Events Summer InternshipEvents and Fundraisers can gain invaluable experience in special events with NAHF with this internship! Plan special events and raise funds for beneficiaries within a non-profit healthcare organization in Northern Arizona. Events include golf tournaments, bike rides, walks, runs, conferences and galas benefiting the Cancer Centers of Northern Arizona, Heart and Vascular Center of Northern Arizona, Valley View Care, Children’s Health Center, FMC’s Taylor House, and other areas of greatest need.

Grand Canyon Association

Public Relations Internship — Be a part of the planning for the 2019 Centennial celebration of Grand Canyon National Park! You will write, plan and post on social media, assist with events, and work with the media and community to promote Grand Canyon Association, the nonprofit partner of Grand Canyon National Park. The position is located in Flagstaff, but there may be opportunities to participate in events at the South Rim.

BONUS: Earn credits in Strategic Communication for first summer session, second summer session — or both. 10 hours a week = three credits.

Vanguard’s College to Corporate Business Program

C2C Business Internship — this internship is tailor-made for talented, high-potential college students who seek an internship with real-world experiences, and invaluable professional connections. Develop an in-depth understanding of Vanguard’s mission, initiatives, and investment philosophy, plus learn how these elements impact our clients and crew. You’ll begin your senior year refreshed, knowledgeable, and with a priceless initiation into the financial industry.

Make-A-Wish: Wish Granting Internship

Wish-Granter Internship — Work in the Wish Granting department and get a glimpse behind the scenes with the mission of the Make-A-Wish foundation. Spend your summer developing stronger communication skills, higher business ethic, and a greater understanding of working within the not-for-profit sector. The best part? — you’ll gain experience in affecting the life of a child with a critical condition.

Phoenix Suns Internship

Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury Internship — Learn the business of sports first-hand through Phoenix Suns and Mercury executives! Interns will be assigned to rotate through different departments for approximately 10–12 weeks to learn about how different departments play a role into the success of the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury. Rotations typically will be for four weeks but may be extended to meet the needs of the business.
